"Wood. Research papers. Reports. Announcements" ("Drewno") is an international scientific journal that publishes original results of innovatory basic and applied research concerning technological, technical, economic and ecological issues important for the wood science and forest-based industries, including their environment, and interesting to the international recipients. "Drewno" is an Open Access (CC BY 4.0) biannual journal.

Development of Publishing and Editorial Practices of the International Scientific Journal “Wood. Research Papers. Reports. Announcements” (“Drewno”) – a task implemented in 2022–2024, funded under contract no. RCN/SP/0519/2021/1 from the resources of the Ministry of Education and Science designated to support Polish scientific journals.

The project focuses on the professionalization of editorial work and the development of publishing and editorial practices. Key activities include the implementation of a publishing management system, automation and streamlining of editorial processes, modernization of the journal’s website in line with the requirements of major databases and search engines, acquisition of DOIs, and improvement of content quality (plagiarism detection tools and language editing). The aim is to enhance the international visibility and competitiveness of Drewno, align with current publishing standards, and support the dissemination of wood science research—an area of strategic importance for the Polish economy.
